Connect ChatGPT to Stuff
Add Stuff as a custom remote MCP app/plugin, then use it from a conversation. Public directory availability and a custom connection are separate paths.
Add the connection
In the ChatGPT web interface checked on October 5, 2026:
- Open Plugins → Add → Create custom MCP server. Some accounts expose custom MCP controls through developer mode or workspace settings.
- Name the connection Stuff.ac. Enter
https://stuff.ac/mcpas the server URL and select OAuth. - Review ChatGPT's notice, choose Create as a plugin, then Continue to Stuff. Complete Stuff sign-in when prompted, choose a space and its permissions, and approve.
- In a new conversation, select Stuff in the tools menu.
Availability depends on your account and workspace policy. Stuff supports automatic OAuth registration; leave optional client credentials empty unless your administrator has a specific configuration. OpenAI's connection guide.

Read, edit, and preview
Start with:
Use Stuff to list my connected spaces and read Project Lantern.md. Give me its link and current status. Do not modify anything.
Ask “Preview that file from Stuff” to use the interactive viewer where supported. Stuff's ChatGPT integration has been exercised with document, image, and PDF previews. Ordinary text tools and file links remain useful when a client surface does not display the widget. Previewing does not require granting sharing or organization permissions.
When ready, use the handoff test to create a small checklist and continue editing it in another assistant. Confirm the change by reading it back from Stuff, rather than relying only on a chat message saying it was saved.
Disconnect
Open the installed Stuff entry in ChatGPT's plugin/app settings and use its disconnect or removal control. Also revoke the matching connection in Stuff → Agents to stop future access at the source. Deleting a conversation is not the same as revoking the connection. Revocation walkthrough.
Verification note: this screenshot shows a real setup form in an account with an existing working Stuff integration. It is not a claim that a new demo ChatGPT account or grant was created.
